This event grew out of the one-day Housatonic Valley Classic road race and encompassed five races in 2004 in an omnium format. In 2005 the event downsized to a three-day timed stage race and dropped the Housatonic race. On April 15th it was announced that the race would move from May to September which is probably a good move to deconflict with the Joe Martin Stage Race and Tri-Peaks Challenge which both take place in Arkansas. The exact stage schedule and dates are still unknown.
