The 2006 edition of this event marks a further shrinkage with only a single road race, the loss of its UCI status, and a NRC downgrade. For many years it was a five- or six-stage event plus prologue, but it has continued to downsize in recent years. What is happening to Redlands? This has been one of the fixture stage races in North America although it is now somewhat overshadowed by the Tour of California and Tour de Georgia.
